Candida Home Remedies

Candida Home Remedies That Work!
By Blake Allen

Many women will suffer from a yeast infection at some point in their lives. Furthermore, yeast infections tend to be a recurring problem for many.

Herbal Medicines And Plant Facts Used For Everyday Home Cures.

Physically uncomfortable, symptoms include a burning or itching sensation in the vaginal area, accompanied by a whitish or yellowish discharge. Not only are yeast infections physically uncomfortable, but it is also a condition that can be embarrassing to talk about.

In order to prevent recurring yeast infections, it is important to understand what it is caused by. Candida yeast is a micro-organism that is naturally produced by the human body. However, sometimes the yeast can multiply.

When there is too much Candida yeast in the system, it can lead to a yeast infection. In order to prevent this infection from recurring, it is important to not only treat the skin irritation, but to focus on preventing the yeast multiplication in the body system. Fortunately, there are many Candida home remedies that serve this purpose.

One of the main reasons that the yeast succeeds in multiplying to a point where it causes skin irritation is due to the lack of bacteria in the body system that are needed to fight it off and keep it under control.

Just like the yeast are naturally present in our bodies, so too are beneficial bacteria that work to keep it in check. However, this bacteria can be diminished by common medications that we take, such as antibiotics and others.

Without these bacteria, the yeast finds itself in an environment in which it can grow, unchecked, to an excessive amount, causing skin irritations and other conditions. Therefore, it is important to learn about medicine that causes this reduction, and other alternatives.

Candida home remedies also include dietary changes. Many foods actually contribute to the production of yeast in our systems. It is important to understand what these foods are, so that we can limit our intake of them. By a simple change in diet, it is possible to greatly reduce the amount of Candida that leads to uncomfortable yeast infections.

The most common way to treat a yeast infection is by applying a topical cream to the area of skin irritation. While this provides temporary relief, it does nothing to treat the source of the problem.

In order to treat the source of the problem, it is essential to reduce the yeast level in the body system. This is the only way to prevent recurring infection. The above suggestions touch on just a few of the many home remedies that address how to accomplish this.

Charcoal

Activated Charcoal - An Amazing Natural Remedy!

By Chris Sumbs

Activated charcoal is one of the most amazing natural remedies I've ever encountered. It's definitely one of my favorites. It is so useful in fact, that I decided I needed to share it with everyone! The topic of charcoal itself sounds pretty dull and boring. My goal, of course, is not to bore readers with useless information; it's to give you insight on real solutions to your everyday health needs.

Save at Whole Health Products
Activated charcoal has many useful applications. The most common use is in the case of accidental ingestion of a poisonous substance. It has saved the lives of many who have consumed toxic levels of chemicals (including household cleansers) and drugs (including sedatives, narcotics, and painkillers).

Here's the technical jargon on activated charcoal. It's a highly adsorbent substance. I said adsorbent, not absorbent. Adsorption is a process in which atoms and molecules move from a bulk phase (such as a solid, liquid, or gas) onto a solid or liquid surface. In other words, the toxic substance attaches to the surface of the charcoal. Because it is not "digested," it stays inside the GI tract and eliminates the toxin when the person has a bowel movement. It is excellent at preventing the absorption of many poisons from the gastrointestinal tract.

It has several benefits and common uses. In addition to being a natural anti-poison first-aid remedy, many non-emergency uses have recently been discovered. It has been shown to eliminate fungi, viruses, and bacteria from the body. It can also adsorb gases, especially in the lower intestine, and thus help to relieve flatulence and gas pains. It also takes the smell out! For all you ladies out there who have husbands with stinky gas, this may finally be a solution!

I recommend having them try the activated charcoal pills. It's an easier way to take charcoal, and you can bring it with you wherever you go. What about all those stings and bug bites your kids get? Try mixing activated charcoal powder with water to make a paste to relieve the itching of insect bites and stings. In addition, current research is showing that charcoal may provide many more potential health benefits like helping lower cholesterol and improving general cardiovascular health.

It should be noted that while charcoal has many benefits, there are some minor precautions to keep in mind. It may dehydration. You must drink plenty of water when using it. In addition, it should not be taken with other medications as it will adsorb them and cause them not to be effective. Some less common side effects may include pain or swelling of stomach, constipation, and vomiting. These rare side effects are likely due to lack of fluids. Drink water! Also important to note, milk products may decrease the ability of the charcoal to work. Don't eat or drink dairy when taking it.

Activated charcoal is a must have for everyone. It's not expensive; you can buy a bottle for under $10! If you have kids, you need to have this stuff on your shelf. Kids can get into trouble so easily, and you may not have time to get them to a medical facility before it's too late. I recommend researching it on your favorite search engine; you'll find some good information on its uses and the proper way to administer it. If you're reading this don't have any activated charcoal, get some right away! It is so simple, yet so amazing. It's one of my favorite natural remedies and it can literally save lives!

Herbal Therapist

How a Herbal Therapist Works
By Robin Brain

Robin BrainLevel: PlatinumI managed 100s of websites. ...
Most herbal therapists (sometimes called herbalists- but not all herbalists treat clients medically) believe that the body acts in unison with the psyche (spirit) and emotions to maintain the equilibrium necessary for overall health and well-being. With this holistic approach herbal therapists use their knowledge of plant properties to rebalance a client's life energy levels so that his or her body heals itself.

Home Remedies For Better Health

Generally speaking conventional medicine takes the view that the mind and the body are separate entities, If there is illness or disease in the body, the symptoms and the affected part are treated in isolation. For example, an allergic reaction might be treated with antihistamines by a conventional doctor, while a therapeutic physician would look for the root of the problem, and address that. Every therapeutic herbalist acknowledges that there is a role for surgical procedures and drugs in some situations. The advances of modern medicine can complement medical herbalism, and vice versa.

Visiting a Herbal Therapist

The first session with your herbalist is for gathering information. You can expect to discuss

your current complaint - your symptoms, the length of time you have been suffering, and what medical care you have received

your medical history - every illness or injury that you can remember is important

your lifestyle - every aspect of your lifestyle is also important - how much stress you are under, how you sleep and when, and what you eat and drink; a herbalist will often offer advice on diet and exercise alongside treatment for your illness, so it is important that you tell him or her as much as you can about yourself

your emotional state some illnesses are exacerbated by emotional trauma or upset, so your emotional health will also be relevant

your work and any occupational or environmental hazards that might be affecting your health.

Any physical examination during the visit is similar to that carried out by your family physician. During the first session, it i's likely that most of the following will be done

your blood pressure measured

your eyes and ears examined

your heart or chest listened to by stethoscope

palpation by hand of an area where the tone of the organs or muscles is in question

blood or urine samples may occasionally be required.

An initial consultation lasts about one hour. Once the picture is clear and a diagnosis is made, the therapist prescribes one or a combination of several remedies tailored to suit the client and may advise on whia foods to avoid or to favor in order to aid recovery. The most common forms of remedy include tinetures, capsules or lozenges, ointments, and creams. Many herbal therapists are happy to work together with the client's local physician, especially when the client is already receiving conventional medical treatment.

Earache

Home Remedies For An Earache
by Tina Porter

Dealing with an earache can be very painful, especially when it affects a baby or small child. An earache typically begins when the tube which runs from the back of the throat to the eardrum becomes congested. Therefore, the eardrum cannot regulate pressure or fluids to the ear. Mucus or pus builds up behind the eardrum, which in turn causes an earache. The more fluid that builds up, the worse the pain becomes. Because it is not always possible to get immediate medical attention, you may have to tolerate the pain or find an alternative way of treating it yourself.

Home Remedies For Better Health

Fortunately, there are several home remedies that you can try that just may help alleviate your earache:
  • Place several drops of garlic juice directly into the ear using an eyedropper. This will help ease the pain. Also, because garlic contains a natural antibiotic it is extremely effective for earaches caused by infection.
  • Peel 2 cloves of garlic and mix them with two teaspoons of mustard oil. Heat the mixture until the garlic turns black and then turn the heat off. Strain and cool until lukewarm. Apply 2 to 4 drops into the ear using a cotton swab. This is said to help alleviate ear pain.
  • Take a few whole basil leaves and grind them to make a juice. Place two drops inside the ear.
  • Mix some garlic oil with 3 drops of grape seed extract and place inside the affected ear.
  • Grind some mango leaves and boil them. After cooling down a little bit, place 2 to 3 drops of the mango leaf extract into the affected ear.
  • In boiling water, steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of chamomile flowers for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain the water and place the hot flowers in a cloth and place on the ear. This is a great home remedy for earache.
  • Place a few drops of warm olive oil, mineral oil, or tea tree oil into the ear that hurts.
  • Wrap a hot water bottle inside a towel to make a pillow. Lie down with your ear on the hot water bottle pillow for pain relief. You could also try using a warm gel pack wrapped in a towel. Applying warmth is said to be a great remedy for an earache.
  • Take a teaspoon of sesame oil along with a clove of garlic and heat it on a flame until it becomes warm. Place four drops of the oil in the affected ear and lie on your side for 10 minutes.
  • Take a radish and chop it into small pieces. Place the pieces of radish into some mustard oil and warm it gently. Place a couple of drops into the affected ear.

Managing earaches can be as easy as going to the kitchen cabinet or refrigerator. A visit to the doctor is an option but even then you may be told to just let it run its course without the aid of any medication. If so, then a home remedy is exactly what you need.

Herbal Remedies

Herbal Remedies - Do They Really Work?
By Bruce Maul

We often hear about the dangers pertinent to the use of herbal remedies as a substitute to prescription medicine. It appears that the limited research conducted on herbs and also the minimal number of expert herbalists engaged in the field of alternative medicine becomes the subject of contention, particularly among individuals in the medical profession. Being categorized as a food supplement only adds to the controversy surrounding herbal remedies and patented medicine.

Herbal Medicines And Plant Facts Used For Everyday Home Cures.
Photo: health.howstuffworks.com

Despite the odds, it is undeniable that the potency of herbal remedies for disease prevention and treatment lies beyond the claim of a placebo effect. Many herbal users who have given up on narcotics for the cure of their medical condition have surprisingly found relief in a few doses of herbal remedies. There are alternative forms of treatment that work, and in fact, the power of herbs to heal has been substantiated time and time again.

It appears that the more subdued healing offered by herbal remedies becomes the reason for its underrated stature in the mainstream. Too many people prefer a quick cure for whatever that ails them no matter what the cost. Nevertheless, this also draws the line between narcotics and herbals. While a prescription drug is intended to neutralize an infection or a palpable ailment and clear the symptoms of disease, herbal remedies take a more holistic stance, probing deeper into underlying systemic disorders to restore the well-being of the diseased organ and the body's normal functioning as well.

But this does not mean that herbal remedies disregard the fundamentals of disease treatment. Every herbal formulation is a concoction of different potent herbs, each marked with a predefined healing purpose while working synergistically to suppress the symptoms, preclude the outgrowth of pathogens causing diseases, reactivate the ailing body, and revitalize the senses.

The growing clamor for herbal remedies can only be attributed to the fact that more people have now become aptly oriented over the true nature of herbs and their healing properties. Most likely, the controversies will continue to perk up the herbal community as well as the medical profession. But in the end, consumers benefit from an alternative and cheaper form of treatment at their disposal.

Herbs for Asthma

Herbs for Asthma - Chinese Herbs for Asthma Is the way To Go
By Chris Whelan

I would like to think that we all know what asthma is and how dangerous it might be. We probably all do. But what many of us do not know is the fact that in some cases, Natural Chinese Medicine (NTC) might give you better help for your asthma then our traditional western medicine.

Home Remedies For Better Health

The difference lies in how we treat the illness. As we are used to we get something to treat the symptoms and that's about it. When it comes to NTC it is a whole other ball game. Don't get me wrong, the herbs for asthma will also treat your symptoms. They have sort of an "antihistamine" effect that will get rid of the wheezing. But what is almost more important is that they also treat the cause of your asthma.

Now how they treat it is pretty basic really. Chinese herbs can help you strengthen your lungs and the lungs immune system so that you will be better prepared when the next asthma attack tries to show its ugly face.

So with all this knowledge, would you not think that more people would use this resource to the fullest? I would think so, but no! People are scared of everything that is new to them. (At least many of them are.)

As you might know, asthma is most frequent with kids and young adults and if you are planning to set your kid up with some Chinese herbs be sure to get help from someone that knows what it's all about. Don't just jump in head first. This is not that important if the herbs for asthma are for adults but still. It does not hurt to know what you are buying.

Other then that, go out and learn some remedies with herbs. It will do you a world of good.

A bungalow is a type of single-story house that originated in India. The word derives from the Gujarati word baṅglo, which in turn came from Hindi baṅglā. It means "Bengali", used elliptically for a "house in the Bengal style". Such houses were traditionally small, only one story, thatched and had a wide veranda. Bungalows today are a type of house that is usually single story or one and a half stories, and can be quite large. A Unique Way Of Relaxing

Aromatherapy Presents A Unique Way Of Relaxing By Uplifting The Spirit
By Tim Gorman

Many people are getting into aromatherapy as a way to relax and renew energy. If you would like to try aromatherapy in your home, there are a variety of essential oils and fragrances that you can use. In order to use these oils and fragrances, you need a diffuser.

Free Shipping Free Samples at Spalook
Photo: auracacia.com

A diffuser is simply a device that will distribute the scent of the oils in various directions. When you use a diffuser, though, it is vital that you take the necessary safety precautions. Before using a diffuser, carefully read the instructions and follow it down to the letter. This is for your own safety.

Herbal and health stores carry essential oils and fragrances that you can use for aromatherapy. You can combine essential oils and fragrances to create interesting scents. By experimenting with the scents, you can come up with your own unique blends, ones that relax you the most and help lift up your spirit.

To experience these creative blends, place a few drops of the oil into the diffuser. Give it a few minutes and the wonderful scent will spread throughout your home. You can diffuse different scents each day; the only limits are your creativity, imagination and "scents" of adventure!

Aromatherapy can be a wonderful gift you can give to someone who needs a bit of renewal and uplifting -- perhaps a fellow co-worker who has been working non-stop for a week, a family member who needs a night of simply relaxing at home or a friend who loves to try out new things. Give that someone a diffuser along with the essential oils you have tried and liked. If you have been blending essential oils and fragrances, include those in your aromatherapy gift.

Garlic can help..

Eating Garlic Can Eliminate Warts
By Lesa Bolt

In the movies we always saw a lady wearing a garlic necklace to ward off vampires. Well maybe that theory was not such a bad thought after all.

There has been some suggestion that garlic will help eliminate warts and possibly keep them from forming or coming back.

Home Remedies For Better Health

If you have a wart that you have been struggling with to go away and have tried numerous over the counter treatments and home remedies because you are not yet ready to see the doctor and have an expensive treatment that will take multiple visits over several months to remove the hideous growth, you may be in luck.

Before you make the appointment try one last home remedy.

Go to your local discount store that carries vitamins or a pharmacy store and get a bottle of garlic tablets. Make sure to get the kinds that will not leave you smelling like a clove of garlic yourself. The recommended dosage to remove a wart is 2 to 3 tablets a day. Check the label and ask a professional before taking but you may want to try this grandmothers remedy.

You can even try putting a little garlic mashed on the wart itself and cover with duct tape and leave on over night. Do this everyday for 2 weeks and see if it starts to get smaller and eventually goes away.

This is considered an old wives tale but there may be some truth to using garlic to remove a wart. It cannot hurt as garlic is not toxic. You may even want to try eating a little extra garlic in your regular diet especially if you enjoy garlic.

Flower and Tree Remedies

By Robin Braine

Remedies from flowers and trees are subtle" elixirs" that claim to be able to help to rekindle a feeling of mental and emotional, as well as physical, well-being. Some aim to bring relief from unsettling moods and emotions such as anxiety, fear, guilt, and anger, and others encourage people who use them to recognize and let go of deep-seated behavioral patterns that give rise to such feelings. Above all, they claim to be able to help people feel calm and content in times of stress. Flower and tree remedies are so safe and harmless that they are often used as selftreatment. They are not targeted at particular symptoms but at states of mind accompanying illness.

Home Remedies For Better Health

Though flowers have played a role in healing for centuries - Australian Aborigines and Native Americans were using remedies made from flowers to ease emotional upsets and achieve peace of mind thousands of years ago - the healing power of flowers was only rediscovered in the West in the 1920s when it was revived by Dr. Edward Bach.

Bach (pronounced Batch) was a British Harley Street physician specializing in pathology and bacteriology, with a practical understanding of homeopathy. As a young practitioner he quickly noticed that patients with "physical" complaints often seemed to be suffering from some form of anxiety or "negative" emotional problem. He came to think that the emotional background was the cause of the illness.

Disenchanted with the standard medical approach of relieving the symptoms rather than the cause of illness, he began a quest for a new healing system that could help with the psychological aspect of illness. His search ended with the flowers blossoming in the fields and hedgerows around his cottage.

Bach decided intuitively upon the plants that would give relief. It is said that he put himself into the frame of mind corresponding to that which he saw as being a cause of illness, before trying out the effects of plants on himself. The first of the plant remedies pinpointed by Bach related to what he saw as 12 key personality types. The next 26 flower remedies brought relief from different kinds emotional discomfort and distress. The table silo below summarizes the 38 remedies developed by& during the 1920s and 1930s.

Herbal Medicines For Blood Problems

By Robin Brain

Problems with the blood, as opposed to the supply or circulation of blood, are normally the result of something wrong in the chemical composition of the blood so that either it does not flow as it should (it may clot too quickly or not fast enough) or it does not have the right amount of chemicals to nourish and protect the body or itself properly.

Home Remedies For Better Health

Serious blood problems such as hemophilia (an inherited deficiency in which blood will not clot properly, resulting in excessive bleeding), agranulocytosis (which is the result of a white blood cell deficiency), leukemia, polycythemia (high altitude or mountain sickness, from having too many red blood cells), and septicemia (blood poisoning, the result of an overload of disease-causing bacteria in the bloodstream) are relatively rare but need medical help, mostly urgently. They are really not suitable subjects for treatment by alternative therapies.

Anemia

Anemia, which simply means lack of blood, is not a disease so much as a disorder. It is caused by a deficiency of the red oxygen-carrying pigment in blood (hemoglobin), often from lack of iron in the diet. It is more common among women than men and can be a particular problem for women with heavy periods. Iron-deficiency anemia may also be caused by blood loss into the gut in conditions such as peptic ulcer and stomach cancer.

Symptoms of anemia are a "tired-all-the-time" feeling, pale skin, shortness of breath, dizziness, poor concentration, recurrent colds and infections, and white eyelid linings.

Sickle Cell Anemia

Several blood disorders are the result of a single gene. Sickle cell anemia causes a distortion of the red blood cells into sickle shapes (a sort of half-moon shape), slowing the blood flow and decreasing the amount of oxygen the red cells are able to carry. It is much more common in Africans, Caribbeans, and people of middle Eastern descent; in the United States, 1 in every 400 Afro- Americans has this disease. There are several forms of sickle cell anemia, ranging from mild to severe. Symptoms of the severe form, which usually begins at about six months of age, include organ dysfunction, pain, and jaundice, eventually leading and extreme lethargy.

Sickle cell anemia cannot be cured, but most sufferers maintain a good lifestyle with regulerers transfusions. It is often suggested that sufferers, take specific inoculations in order to avoid infection. Dehydration and coldness may cause painful sickle cell crises in the sufferer, and should be avoided.

Treatment

Diet and Nutrition The treatment of iron-deficiency anemia is to take more iron in food or as food supplements, ideally in a multimixture that includes a complex of B vitamins, especially B12 and folic acid, vitamins C, vitamins E, copper, and selenium. Supplements may be taken tablets or liquid tonic. Iron - rich foods include liver beef, and chicken. The best non-animal sources are soybeans, corn flour, spinach, black kidney beans, rhubarb, dried fruits, and dark green leafy vegetables. Biochemic tissue salts may also help. Avoid tea: it cuts down the amount of iron the body can absorb.

Consult a qualified practitioner/therapist for:
Traditional Chinese Medicine Chinese herbs (gui pi wan or "Return spleen tablets") may help.
Acupuncture Some find this therapy helpful.

Environmental Therapies- Clinical Ecology

By Robin Brain

The Belief that our environment can affect our health is not new. Hippocrates, the ancient Greek father of modern medicine (today's physicians still respect the Hippocratic Oath even if they no longer take it), recorded the beneficial and harmful effects of certain foods in the 5th century B.C.

Free Shipping Free Samples at Spalook

Today our bodies face a daily assault undreamed of by the ancient Greeks: our crops are sprayed with pesticides, our food is packed with preservatives, and the air we breathe is often full of gasoline fumes and pollution.

The overall effect on our bodies is a weakened immune system that makes us even more susceptible to allergies and sensitivities. Air pollution is one of the worst problems, caused by industries, agriculture, power stations, aerosols and other chemicals, coal and other fires. As a result we suffer from headaches, respiratory tract infections and ailments, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, eye problems, and eventually a profound breakdown in health manifested by various cancers. Other environmental hazards include lead from gasoline which causes hyperactivity birth defects - acid rain, carbon monoxide poisoning, water pollution, and radiation.

Clinical ecologists treat illnesses and disorders that they believe stem from an individual's reaction to these environmental factors. They practice what is known as environmental medicine, and they estimate that between 10 and 30 percent of the population suffer from some form of ecological illness.

Clinical ecologists believe that foods are still the most common environmental factors causing illness. They identify the particular foods or chemicals to which an individual is sensitive and advise on treatment. The simplest treatment is to avoidu the foods and chemicals that cause problems. Howeer, people are often sensitive to several different substances. If these are foods, removing them all the diet could lead to nutritional problems; if these sensitivity is to a very common environmental pollutant,or to a chemical with which an individual works. it may be practically impossible to avoid. In this case tretment concentrates on desensitizing the individual.

Desensitization involves diluting the troublesome foods or chemicals and placing drops of the solution under the tongue. Solutions of varying strengths are used until a tolerance level is established. Then it will usually be possible to withstand limited exposure to the harmful food or chemicals.
